Haircut Food Shopping

Hello! I've been harassed by some of you who tweeted a lot about me not updating on Kekna's wedding. But but... I gotta wait for the pics from official photographers! So can we wait together? Hewhewhew.

In the meantime, I wanna share the journey to Kekna's Big Day. One of which is me taking the boys for their haircut. They wanted potong kedai mamak, which prolly cost less than RM10 per head. Tapi sekali-sekala I figured why not treat them to the salon bagi thrill sikit reaching our sister's big day. Takkan the perempuan saja go to salon facial and spa kannn.

I brought them to my salon in Bangsar, thinking okay RM30 per head shouldn't be that bad. I only got three heads here with me. Then rupanya RM60, okay fine Shawn. Fine. Tapi kalau suruh junior hairstylists potong  boleh dapat RM40.

Shawn Cutler, we meet again.

I told the hairstylists just do what you think is best for them. Selamba je kan mentang-mentang bukan kepala sendiri. Yang adik-adik dengar, nak terkucil oh tidakkk rambut Sabak Bernamkuuu. Sepanjang diorang shampoo, massage scalp and potong rambut, takkanlah I nak duduk tercongok kat situ, naturally kaki melangkah menuju ke butik-butik terdekat.

Sepulangnya dahku dari beli-belah, adik-adik kelihatan lebih bertamadun :') Tapi results akan di show in other entry when I talk about bertandang session (God knows when...).

Seronok  rasa dihargai bila masing-masing suka haircut mereka sobs sobs. Kakak yang gembira pun membawa mereka makan tengahari di tak lain tak bukan... (memang takde tempat lain dah ke)

Hello Delicious, we meet again.

You know I did some serious shopping when you see a new straw hat on my head.

Khairi kalau orang belanja dia memang camni. Takde malu-malu kucing terus lamb shank segedabak.

Good haircut, good food, good shopping (ehem), overall was a good day! See you in next entry!

Why Most People Don’t Work Out.

Would you like to see something amusing?

Oh my.

This goes to show that even if you own a supermodel figure, it ain’t an excuse to not exercise.
“What kind of exercise? Yoga? Lifting weights? Pilates? Rock-climbing? I don’t have time for any of that”. –Most people.

Wah wah so ambitious, that’s why you get nothing done! There’s always this mindset of preparing yourself wholly before the big ambitious work out. The right attire (I’ve set my eyes on pink Nike gear), the right shoes (no, Power won’t do, must save up for New Balance), the right trainer, the right time (3 times a week please), the right place (only at the gym) and the list goes on and you will never start. Ever.

The idea is to start small, and get the ball rolling. You know those ditch-the-lift-and-take-the-stairs thingamajig? You must be thinking, oh it’s too simple, it can’t be burning calories. Yeah imma tell you why it works; it builds stamina.

A lot of people failed because they get so ambitious like “HEY I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT, LET’S GO JOGGING” without knowing that you need stamina for that and the moment they’re doing second laps, they’re like “you know what jogging is not my forte”. Bimbo betul.

How do you do it?

Start small-  Try to do your normal everyday things, the harder way. Like parking your car further from your office entrance to increase your steps in a day.

Pick your favorite- If you do something you love, you’re most likely to sustain even when it gets tougher. So pick what kind of work out you’d feel happy doing (aerobics/swimming/yadayada).

Work out- Yes, you must work out (no substitute for this, sorry it’s the reality). But don’t lah suddenly want to go on straight 3hours. Stamina is built, not gifted.

Keep track- Write it down: Day 1 jog one round tasik. Day 2, 2 rounds tasik. Day 3, 3 rounds tasik. You keep track of what you do, so that you can increase your activities significantly.

Why am I telling you all this? Because I used to be that bimbo before I discovered the joy of sweating it out, the glowing skin and toned body thanks to working out. And also, aku kan makan tak ingat dunia.

Malaysians, we really need to be healthier and lead the healthy lifestyle. As I write this, I am still working on that six packs I promised myself. Visit www.gayahidupsihat.my, or tune in to Sihat 1 Malaysia programme for more tips on healthy living and dieting.

Realiti Minyak Dalam Diet

                 Kawan baik awak, bukan?

Bangun pagi, eh tak rasa lapar. Eh tak biasa breakfastlah. Tapi kalau keluar rumah awal, sempat menyinggah, hehehehe roti canai satuuuuu. Pelahap sekeping, rasa tak cukup. Apa roti canai sekeping je ni, serving budak-budak nih.

Buat kerja, mata asyik pandang jam, bila nak lunch bila nak lunch bila nak lunch. Arghhh makan kerepek dulu. Bila nak lunch bila nak lunch bila nak lunch. Arghhhh stress dengan boss, makan cempedak goreng (bawak bekal) dulu. Mengunyah dari pukul 9pagi sampai pukul 1tengahari.

Jam menunjukkan pukul 1tengahari, semua bergegas meninggalkan office, kertas berterbangan dan kerusi terpusing-pusing, begitu laju bontot masing-masing nak tuju kedai Nasi Kandar *haruslah include favourite food penulis dalam cerita ini*. AMAGAAAAAAD NASIK KANDAQQQQ COME TO MAMA!

Nasi letak lebih. Mmmmm ayam goreng, kasi potong. Telur sotong ada? Tarak? Okay bagi kuah campur. Sotong goreng. Popedom letak sendiri ke? *letak segunung popedom atas pinggan*. Sayur, ha bagi kobis (ingat dah healthy sangatlah ada sayur sejemput, padahal minyak sayur tuh mengalahkan minyak popedom aku nengok).

Burppppppp, Alhamdulillah segala Puji bagi Allah, Tuhan sekalian alam.
Nak balik office sempat singgah (tahuuuu je mana ada jual finger food, bola ayam cucuk-cucuk, wantan goreng, yong tau foo), sebab bekalan mengunyah dah habis masa dok pakat tenung jam tunggu lunch tadi.

Sambung buat kerja sambil piker apa suami anak-anak nak makan malam nanti. Teringatlah iklan KFC yang bini penat balik kerja, suami bisik-bisik kat minah drive-thru taknak bini terjaga (takut order lebih padahal). Aww so sweet, so happy family. Terus capai talipon bimbit “Abang nanti singgah beli Variety Bucket, ayang tak larat nak masak”. Che abang pun reply “K”. Bergendang kau kegembiraan, terbayang nak menggodangkan badan dengan Kepsi.

Bestkan cerita ini? Seronot betul. Betul-betul seronot. Seronot sangat sampai tak perasan dah segallon minyak masak kau telan. Tapi tak bestlah hidup kalau tak makan makanan bergoreng! Boleh, tapi berpada-pada. Apa yang kita boleh buat untuk kurangkan minyak dalam diet?

Pertama: Elakkan makanan bergoreng.
Alamak susahnya! Macam mana nak elak cekodok andai ia datang bergolek??! Bayangkan je cekodok tuh tersumbat kat arteri kau.

Kedua: Kurangkan minyak dalam makanan.
Mana ada roti canai tak guna minyak?! Ada, suruh aney tuh microwavekan roti canai kau. Kalau tak, datang kat Bukit Jelutong, ada satu mamak tuh suka microwave roti canai, cis!

Ketiga: Gunakan kaedah masakan sihat (kukus, rebus, panggang)
Beli pengukus, beli oven, beli periuk, tapi nak juga guna kuali kan?! Sampai itam-itam bontot dia. Jangan pilih kasih lagi, gunalah method lain untuk masakan anda.

Keempat: Pilih masakan yang menggunakan sedikit minyak.
Yang kari-kari sampai minyak terapung tuh takyahlah masak selalu.

Kelima: Apabila memesan makanan, minta dikurangkan minyak.
Ini tak, siap mintak kasi pedas, tambah telur goreng, taknak sayur (eh order maggi goreng lettew).

Keenam: Jadikan buah-buahan segar sebagai snek.
Nasihat paling bagus dan patut dipraktikkan! Selamat jalan keropok ikan, goreng pisang, char koi. Dan perut yang bunc…

How To Get Cheaper Flight Tix To Europe

                                                  Hanis Zalikha, Euro Trip 2010

Travelling alone is fun and everything but I would have never done it if masa tu I already knew about 1 Malaysia Muhibbah campaign T_T

Seriously, siapa lagi nak beri 30% off your European flight tix?! Only Malaysia Airlines! Hanya perlu travel in group of 3, 6 or 9 di mana dalam group itu ada 3bangsa berlainan (at least). Ha, korang mesti automatic terpiker kawan India/ Cina/ Sikh/ Kadazan/ Iban mana nak ajak sekali LOLOLOL.

Comellah campaign nih. Siapa yang terpikir buat campaign camni, omey angaaat! Satuuuuuuu Malaysia *gaya Najib*

Terlalu simple. You only have to book bersama kawan Muhibah sekalian at any Malaysia Airlines ticket office, or call 1300 88 3000 for more details.

Go here for full image

I dah sediakan a list of reasons Why You Should Travel in Group:

  1. Cut cost in EVERYTHING (share hotel, share supir, share makan besar dekat restaurant mahal yang you would never do kalau pergi seorang diri).
  2. Dapat tumpang luggage bila dah shopping tak sedar diri to avoid extra charges dekat airport!
  3. Lagi seronok jakun bersama. Kalau discover benda baru pastu jakun sorang2 lame gila, bila jakun in group jadi makcik2 comel.
  4. Lebih selamat, sebab jalan macam demo riot, takde siapa berani kacau. Kalau sorang2 tiba hilang pastu okay bye.
  5. Share knowledge bila ada yang dah pernah sampai tempat tuh dulu. Kalau sorang2 kita kena research sendiri mana nak pergi, and taktau pun best/worth visiting ke tak.

Ada lagi nak share? Siapa biasa travel in group, drop your thoughts!
